S7 Technics’ paint shop gives Utair aircraft a new look

S7 Technics Holding, Russia’s largest independent maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) enterprise, has contributed to Utair Airlines’ rebranding exercise.

In May, S7 Technics’ Mineralnye Vody-based paint shop redelivered a Boeing 737 to the Russian carrier painted in its new corporate livery. Utair’s new brand style was introduced in the autumn of 2017.

S7 Technics’ workshop team painted the aircraft using the state-of-the-art Aerobase base coat / clear coat system, developed by Akzo Nobel, the world’s leading producer of coating materials. The job required more than 300 litres of paint.

“We are very pleased to have contributed to the upgrading of the image of Utair. The paint shop enjoys a long and successful history of co-operation with the carrier. Notably, it was a Utair Boeing 737 which was the first fully independent painting project for S7 Technics’ paint shop back in 2014,” Danil Naumenko, deputy director of S7 Technics’ Mineralnye Vody base comments.

Along with Utair there are several other leading customers in the Russian and broader CIS airtransport market, such as Aeroflot, Rossiya Airlines, S7 Airlines, Air Astana that have benefited from S7 Technics’ paint shop expertise. In the period from January to March 2018 the S7 Technics paint shop redelivered 18 aircraft to their operators, six more than in the same period last year.

Utair is one of the TOP-5 air carriers of Russia. The airline flies to 150 destinations, over 60 of which are serviced exclusively by Utair. In 2017, Utair passenger traffic grew by 9.6% to 7.3 million passengers owing to the increase in load factor and improvement of management efficiency of the aircraft fleet.

In 2017, Utair was the industry leader by punctuality: 98.8% of flights were performed in strict accordance with the timetable. Utair aircraft fleet includes 66 airplanes. Moscow Vnukovo airport is the main hub, where over 160 Utair flights are scheduled daily. Utair is headquartered in Surgut.
